Lecture Capture

What is Mediasite?

Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform is the most automated and scalable system for creating, publishing, searching and managing all of your video. It lets you focus on the bigger picture – transforming education, accelerating training, personalizing communications and amplifying your organization’s knowledge. With Mediasite, you can arrange for your lecture to be recorded and made available to students online. Students can then review the lecture material in OAKS or through a web browser.  Students can revisit lectures to practice your more difficult concepts anytime! It is particularly useful for students with learning disabilities or English language learners. The system is intended as a supplement to teaching and is by no means a replacement of the face-to-face classroom.

Where is Mediasite on campus?

Currently the lecture capture venue based appliances are available in the New Science Building in room 129, the Tate Building Room 207, the North Campus and Harbor Walk.

How does it capture?

Lectures can be recorded in one of two ways: Ad doc or automatically. If you choose to capture the lecture automatically then all you need to do is show up to class and start teaching. The device will automatically record your lecture and publish your content. If it is an Ad hoc lecture, then you just need to visit a room specific URL to start recording. Please meet with the Instructional Technologist for your school to discuss which option would work best for you.

How can I access the Mediasite System Server?
