Student Email Migration

Embracing Change: Moving from Gmail to Outlook for a more efficient educational experienceDuring the Spring 2023 semester, the College of Charleston and Information Technology (IT) will transition student email from Gmail to Microsoft Exchange. We understand that this will be an adjustment for many students, but we believe it will benefit you and the campus. More information will be delivered via this page, email, digital signage and social media.

Important Note: This change will affect only email and calendar. Your email address will stay the same for now and you will keep your Google Apps for Education, which includes your Google Drive (10GB).

Information Technology is committed to keeping you informed throughout this process and to making this transition as smooth and seamless as possible.

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?

The Incoming Student phase of the Email Migration project begins on May 31st as we will begin communicating with students and their assigned contacts.  All incoming students will be migrated on June 14th.

On June 15th Google will be available via your CofC Single Sign-on.  Now you will no longer have to sync Google with your CofC password nor will new faculty and staff have to activate a Google account.  All fac/staff will automatically receive a Google Workspace (previously Google Apps for Education) account!
