Cougars Account

Your Cougars account consists of your username and password.  It is your electronic key to a variety of computing systems and resources at the College of Charleston.  Please guard your username and password.

Usernames

For Sudents, your username is the same as your student e-mail address, minus the g.cofc.edu.

For Faculty and Staff, your username is typically your lastname and the first letter of your fist name.  This may vary when a username is already taken.

Accounts for all new College of Charleston faculty, staff and students (starting Spring 2011) will be created using last name, first initial, and middle initial.

Password Requirements

• The password length must be 8 or greater.
• The password length must be 12 or less.
• The password must contain a letter.
• The password must contain a digit.
• The password must contain at least one of these special characters:~^*_+?-.
• The password must not contain any of these special characters::= \&$"#()'`/;<>,[]{}@

Changing Your Cougars Password

To change your Cougars password, log in to MyCharleston at my.cofc.edu. Select the My Accounts tab and click the link for Access My Account Preferences for MyCharleston. Enter your current password, your new password, and the new password one more time.  Click the Save Changes button. 

If you forget your password, you can change it by clicking on the “forgot password” link on the MyCharleston login page to access your secret questions. Answering your secret questions correctly will allow you to change your password.
